How I Use AI at Clarity Web Design Studio

Last Updated: August 2026

I use AI tools as part of my day-to-day work, and I think you deserve to know exactly what that looks like.

The short version: AI helps me edit and refine. It does not write for me, and it does not build your website. Every site I design is hand-built by a human who understands your business, your audience, and why the design decisions matter. I don’t use AI to generate websites, write your copy, or produce deliverables my team will then pass off as our own work.

In practice, when I’m working on your website, I’m working from the content you already have: your existing pages, your notes, your rough drafts. I also use my notes from our conversations and interviews with you. I use AI tools to help tighten sentences, catch awkward phrasing, and streamline copy that’s close but not quite there yet. The thinking, the strategy, the decisions about what stays and what goes, that’s me. All content published on your website is reviewed by you before it goes live.

For my own business content, like newsletters, marketing materials, and planning documents, I use the same approach. AI helps me move faster on the editing side, not the ideas side. I also use it to transcribe meetings and events so I can stay present in the conversation instead of taking notes.

The tools I currently use are Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. I hold a paid account with Claude. Gemini is part of my Google Workspace subscription, which means your content stays within my organization and is not used to train AI models. I stepped back from ChatGPT in March 2026, partly for practical reasons and partly for values ones. Both felt like enough.

This list isn’t fixed. I keep up with how these tools are evolving and the broader conversations around their use, and I expect the list to change as that landscape does. I recently completed Acadia University’s free Introduction to AI Literacy course, which gave me a more grounded way of thinking about the ethical side of these tools and continues to shape how I use them.

I don’t input sensitive client information into any of these tools. I don’t use AI to generate content and pass it off as original work. Everyone who works with Clarity, including subcontractors, is held to the same standard. Client content, data, and identifying information is not entered into AI tools without explicit consent.

If you have questions about how any of this applies to your project, just ask.
