Your website as your human home base

Your referrals are working. Your website isn’t.

A conversation with Moe Carrick on what three website rebuilds taught her about showing up credibly online. Recorded March 25, 2026.

Moe Carrick has been running Moementum Inc. for over 20 years. Her clients include Nike and Amazon. Her business runs on reputation, relationships, and referrals. For most of that time, her website was just… there. Something to point people to. A box checked.

Then we rebuilt it. She came back and rebuilt it again. And then a third time, in February 2026.

Three rebuilds in three years isn’t a failure story. It’s a story about a business that kept growing and finally had a website that grew with it. And it’s exactly the kind of story most founders in this community need to hear.

What we covered

What it looks like when a thriving business has a website working against it Not in traffic. In credibility, proposals, and partnerships. Moe described what that actually looked like for Moementum before things changed, and when she finally stopped calling it fine.

Why the email list and the website aren’t competing Moe runs a strong email operation. Her website doesn’t replace that. It’s what makes it work. We talked about the relationship between owned channels and why the website is the foundation, not the afterthought.

What actually shifted after rebuild number one The traffic numbers changed. That wasn’t the most interesting part. We talked about the subtler things, the ones that showed up in conversations, proposals, and how Moementum shows up in the world.

Why she came back twice more A website isn’t a one-time fix. It should grow with your business. Three rebuilds in three years is a story worth understanding.

What she’d tell founders sitting on a site they know isn’t right The honest version. Not the diplomatic one.

If your referrals are working and your business is growing, it’s easy to put the website conversation off indefinitely. You don’t need it for leads. You’re not running ads. The site is fine.

Moe said the same thing. For a long time.

What changed wasn’t her traffic. It was what happened when someone Googled her before a big meeting. Or when a potential partner tried to send her something and couldn’t find a clear reason why Moementum was the right fit. The website wasn’t losing her business she knew about. It was costing her business she didn’t know she was missing.

I help service-based founders build websites that work for humans, not just algorithms. I’ve been working with Moe since 2023 and watched her go through three iterations of this site. There’s a lot in her story that I think will sound familiar. That’s why I wanted to have this conversation out loud.
